The Bride's Prayer
A Wedding Song

This poem is something I wrote to accompany my novel, To Every Thing a Purpose.  It is the wedding song that that the main character, Jeff, wrote for his bride, Emily, to sing at their wedding.  It is mentioned in the story, but not actually included.

By your purpose, By your plan,
Here we're standing hand in hand.
All my trials, All my tears,
All your blessings led us here.

Your mercy and grace brought us to this place.
Lord, we rejoice in this day that you've made.

CHORUS
Lord, make the two of us become one.
May what you join here in your love
By no man ever be undone.
Bless this union, Lord, and make us one.

I'll love, honor, and obey
The man I marry here today.
May the love I show him be
An extension of yours to me.

We'll give glory and praise for the rest of our days.
May our children see it was worth the wait.

CHORUS
Now make the two of us become one.
May what you join here in your love
By no man ever be undone.
Bless this union, Lord, and make us one.

May we always include you in all that we do.
Keep us faithful until we see your face. (Repeat Chorus)
