The Wings of Love

This poem/song was written to be a part of a story I finished during my senior year of high school called The Avalon Brigade.  It wasn't a very realistic story by any means, but it did help me develop some of my skills as a writer.  Some of the ideas from that story are still pretty good, though, and are now a part of Fallen Sparrows.

Hey, girl that's sittin' there
So lonely and so sad.
What happened oh so long ago
Still makes you feel so bad.

No matter what you do
You think it's all your fault.
Grab on to the wings of love.
Fly away from it all.

CHORUS
Love's wings will fly you through
The darkest of the nights.
They're gonna rescue you
And make it all alright.
There won't be a single thing
To be so afraid of
When you're flying back home again
On the wings of love.

Never give up hopin', girl.
The pain will leave someday.
The wings that were broken once
Will soon fly you away.

You must be willing to forget
If the hurtin's gonna end.
The wings of love are stronger now.
They won't let you fall again.  (To Chorus)

BRIDGE 1
Get on your feet and try again.
You have no need to fear.
It's time to let yourself go free.
The wings of love are here.  (Solo)

BRIDGE 2
The wings of love will fly so high.
Higher than you've been before.
They'll lead you home, give you the strength
To learn to love once more.  (Chorus twice)
